Zora Zips to Grand at the International Junior Milking Shorthorn Show
MADISON, WIS. – Out of the 94 entries for the 2023 International Junior Milking Shorthorn Show, Heavenly Zora ET owned by Dillon Freeman was awarded Grand Champion of the Junior Show award after claiming Senior Champion honors. Zora, out of Bremen, Ind., will also receive the Lillian & Keith King and Jim King Grand Champion of the Junior Show and the $500 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Award. The Reserve Grand Champion honors went to the Intermediate Champion Lazy-M-Jk Lady In-Red-EXP, owned by Aubree, Aiden and Alaina Topp of Botkins, Ohio.
Following Zora as Reserve Senior Champion was Corstar Mixin-It-Up-EXP-ET P owned by Cadence Spearman of West Concord, Minn. Reserve Intermediate Champion went to Lazy M Jekyll Zella-EXP owned by Britton Allen of Belmont, Wis.
The winning Fall Calf, Maunesha Creek Excite Me-EXP, was tapped for Junior Champion. Excite Me is leased by Justin Brandel and owned by Mena E Schmitt of Lake Mills, Wis. Reserve Junior Champion went to the winning Spring Yearling Heifer Old-N-Slow Lapdance-EXP-ET, owned by Dana Johnson of Tomah, Wis.
Official judge Brandon Ferry of Hilbert, Wis., and associate judge, Mike Gregory of Hebron, Ill., evaluated the 94 junior Milking Shorthorn entries.
