Industry Meetings & Events

While the global dairy industry is meeting in Madison, the city is proud to host the National 4-H Dairy Conference and the International Dairy Short Course in conjunction with World Dairy Expo.

Expo attendees can also benefit from a variety of special industry hosted seminars and meetings. Most of these events are free with Expo admission and offer an opportunity to meet and talk with fellow producers from down the road or around the globe.

Effects of a no-withdrawal non-antibiotic strategy on somatic cell count during lactation and at dry off

OZOLEA will present field data for the use of their non-antibiotic and no-withdrawal animal device, OZOLEA-MAST, when used in lactation and for drying-off dairy cows, respectively. This tool, along with efficient herd management, can positively affect the individual somatic cell count, while contributing to reduce antibiotic usage on dairy farms.

Global Dairy Symposium

Hosted by: Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection

During the symposium, presenters will share information on trends in production, COVID-19 pandemic impacts, economic fluctuations, supply chain challenges, climate change, sustainability, labor shortages, and trade conflicts. Each speaker will provide a 30-minute presentation and participate in a panel discussion moderated by lead editor of Hoard’s Dairyman, Corey Geiger.

 

The presenters include:

    • Krysta Harden – Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Dairy Export Council
    • Torsten Hemme – President of International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN), Germany
    • Ad Van Velde – President of Global Dairy Farmers, the Netherlands
    • Sheryl Meshke – Co-President and Chief Executive Officer of Associated Milk Producers Inc.
