Ladyluck Lands Grand at the International Milking Shorthorn Show
MADISON, WIS. – Millcreek Lottery Ladyluck claimed Grand and Senior Champion of the International Milking Shorthorn Show, Thursday, October 5. The winning Aged Cow is owned by Taylor Graves of Danville, Ky. Ladyluck received the Allen Hetts Grand Champion Trophy and the $1000 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Award. Gin-Val Logic Lauretta-EXP, owned by Cory and Kristen Salzl of Litchfield, Minn., followed as Reserve Grand and Reserve Senior Champion.
The pair of Senior Two-Year-Olds stood together for Intermediate and Reserve Intermediate Champion. Intermediate went to Heavenly Hushpuppy-EXP, owned by Tyler Endres and Peter Vail of Reedsburg, Wis. For this honor, they received the Eugene Nelson Intermediate Champion Award. Garys Christos Saffron, owned by Allen Van Gorder, Glenn McNeil, and Gram Rozler of Little Falls, N.Y., was selected as Reserve Intermediate Champion.
The winning Fall Yearling Heifer, Lands-Brook KnH Chilli Pepper, took home the honors of Junior Champion for the second year in a row, as she was also named Junior Champion of the International Milking Shorthorn Show in 2022. Chilli Pepper is owned by Peter Vail of Englewood, Fla. The winning Fall Calf, Maunesha Creek Excite Me-EXP, was tapped for Reserve Junior Champion. Excite Me is leased by Justin Brandel and owned by Mena E Schmitt of Lake Mills, Wis.
Lazy M Farm LLC, of Stitzer, Wis., had a great day in the International Milking Shorthorn show, claiming Premier Exhibitor and Premier Breeder of both the heifer and cow shows. Peter Vail, Mile High, of Englewood, Fla., claimed Premier Exhibitor of the Heifer Show. North Stars Famous Patriot-EXP was Premier Sire, while Halpins Muddy Rockstar-TW was Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.
Official judge Brandon Ferry of Hilbert, Wis., and associate judge, Mike Gregory of Hebron, Ill., evaluated 234 Milking Shorthorn entries.
