Expo Seminars Answer Essential Dairy Industry Questions

MADISON, WIS. – Each year, World Dairy Expo brings industry experts to Madison, Wisconsin to speak about topics pertinent to the global dairy industry. This year’s Expo Seminars are no different, aiming to answer questions about milking procedures, market reform, and more. Seminars are presented daily, Tuesday through Friday, in Mendota Room 1 of the Exhibition Hall at 12:00 p.m.

Federal Milk Marketing Orders have been regulating aspects of U.S. dairy markets for more than 80 years. They have accommodated changes in technology, consumer preferences, and structure of the industry. However, their basic tools—classified pricing and pooling—are not fundamentally different than they were in the 1940s. In this discussion, panelists will examine what substantial changes are needed for future U.S. dairy market regulation.
