COVID-19 Policies

World Dairy Expo continues to plan its 54th event with the consistent goal of creating a safe and enjoyable must-attend event for everyone in the global dairy industry. For those who plan to join us in Madison, here is what you can expect during World Dairy Expo 2021.

  • Attendees and exhibitors arriving on the grounds will not be asked to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, a negative COVID-19 test or be subject to a temperature check in order to attend World Dairy Expo 2021.
  • WDE attendees and exhibitors who display symptoms or are diagnosed with COVID-19 will be asked to leave the premises. Participants who have come in contact with known COVID-19 positive individuals within the 14 days prior to arrival or while in attendance at Expo 2021 should not attend or will be asked to leave Expo.
  • Complimentary COVID-19 PCR testing will be available for attendees and exhibitors who need to utilize it for traveling requirements, for guests who are experiencing symptoms or for individuals who wish to be tested prior to returning home. Attendees may also receive a free COVID-19 vaccination while on grounds. Testing and vaccinations will be available from 10:00 a.m. to Noon (CST), Tuesday through Friday, in the east lobby of the Coliseum.
  • Public Health Madison & Dane County requires face coverings be worn by individuals two-years old and older in enclosed public spaces. The face covering emergency order is in effect through October 8. Face masks required signs are posted on the building doors at the Alliant Energy Center and the facility requests that those using the Alliant Energy Center adhere to public health requirements and recommendations.
  • Enclosed public areas impacted by the face covering orders include: Exhibition Hall, Trade Center, Arena Building and Coliseum. This also includes the Showring floor. Due to their structural designs, the Cattle Tent and cattle housing portions of the New Holland Pavilions are not defined as enclosed spaces.
  • Musicians, performers, and speakers are not required to wear a mask when distanced from attendees and actively presenting or performing.
  • Hand sanitizing stations, sponsored by Ecolab, will be placed throughout the grounds. The facility will have masks available for guests.
  • While not required, physical distancing is shown to decrease the spread of COVID-19 and is recommended when possible. Please be respectful of comfort levels related to COVID-19 that may differ from your own.
  • World Dairy Expo welcomes and is not restricting attendance for international guests or exhibitors. However, due to federally mandated border restrictions, Expo anticipates minimal international participation.
  • Due to COVID-19, Expo is planning for lower attendance numbers, a reduced Trade Show footprint and modifications to WDE offerings and events hosted by industry partners. For a current schedule and interactive maps, download Expo’s mobile event app.
  • The Alliant Energy Center has implemented the following plan and certification to promote a safe environment for those who use their facility.
    • Clean Slate Program: Read the plan here.
    • GBAC STAR: Learn more here.
    • Needlepoint bipolar ionization technologies (NPBI) in all indoor facilities. NPBI delivers cleaner indoor air by reducing harmful particles and pathogens like mold, bacteria, allergens and viruses, and is highly effective in eliminating disease-causing pathogens, such as those responsible for COVID-19.

WDE advocates that attendees follow the policies, guidelines and recommendations of the CDC and Public Health Madison & Dane County while at World Dairy Expo. As of September 20, 2021, all information in this message is correct, but remains subject to change. The complete Face Covering Emergency Order #2 can be read here.
