Lucille Leaps to Grand Champion of the International Junior Jersey Show 

MADISON, WIS. – During the 2023 International Junior Jersey Show, the winning junior in the Lifetime Cheese Production Cow Class, Rolling Spring Premier Lucille-ET was awarded Grand Champion Female after claiming Senior Champion honors. Owned by Evan Jauquet of Pulaski, Wis., Lucille will receive the Lillian & Keith King and Jim King Grand Champion of the Junior Show and the $500 Udder Comfort Grand Champion Award. Standing next to Lucille, Lone Pine Nighttrain Lula was awarded Reserve Senior Champion prior to being named Reserve Grand Champion. The winning Five-Year-Old is owned by Mason Ziemba and Amy Hippen of Durhamville, N.Y.

Intermediate Champion Female was Nor-Bert Andreas Dime, the first-place Junior Three-Year-Old Cow. Dime was exhibited by Dalton, Dillon & Breanne Freeman of Bremen, Ind. Reserve Intermediate Champion Female was Arethusa Gentry Chevelle-ET, shown by Megan Moede of Algoma, Wis. Chevelle was the winning junior in the Senior Three-Year-Old Cow Class.

Miss Gayles Grace-ET, owned by Kendall Thomas of North Lewisburg, Ohio, took home the honors of Junior Champion in both the Junior and Open shows. Following in Grace’s footsteps, the winning Spring Yearling Heifer, DKG Gentry Cream, claimed the Reserve Junior Champion honors in the Junior and Open shows. Cream is owned by Blake Greiwe of Quincy, Ohio.

Official judge Mike Duckett of Rudolph, Wis., and associate judge, Kevin McGriskin of Melancthon, Ontario, Canada evaluated 145 junior Jersey entries.
